Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Market Insight collects, why we collect it, who processes it on our behalf, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1. Who we are
Market Insight (“Market Insight”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is an independent market-intelligence platform operated by High Holly Ltd, a private limited company registered in England & Wales under company number 06531629. The service is accessible at marketrecapdaily.com.
Note on our domain: Market Insight is the product name; the
service is hosted on the domain marketrecapdaily.com. Both refer to
the same operator and the same service.
For the purposes of UK GDPR, High Holly Ltd is the data controller for personal data you provide directly to us, and a joint controller or controller-in-common with SnapTrade for brokerage data you choose to share via the SnapTrade Connection Portal.
2. Data we collect
2.1 Account data
- Email address (used for sign-in and service communication)
- Authentication identifiers issued by Supabase Auth (our authentication provider)
- Display preferences (theme, watchlists, dashboard layout)
2.2 Usage data
- Pages and features you interact with, on an aggregated basis
- Approximate device type and browser (for compatibility and debugging)
- Server log data: IP address, timestamps, request paths, response codes (retained short-term for security and abuse prevention)
2.3 Content you create
- Watchlists, tags, notes, manually entered trades, and dividend records
2.4 Data we do not collect
- We do not ask for or store your brokerage credentials (username, password, MFA codes). Those are entered directly into your brokerage via SnapTrade’s secure connection flow and never touch our servers.
- We do not collect payment card data. Should we introduce paid plans, payment will be processed by a PCI-compliant payment provider.
3. Brokerage data and SnapTrade
If you choose to connect a brokerage account, we use SnapTrade (operated by Passiv Technologies Inc., Canada) as our brokerage data aggregator. SnapTrade handles the secure connection to your broker and acts as our processor for brokerage data.
3.1 What is collected from your broker
- Account identifiers, type (e.g. ISA, taxable, retirement), and currency
- Holdings: instruments, quantities, cost basis, market value
- Balances: cash, buying power
- Transaction history made available by your broker
- Open orders (where the broker exposes them)
3.2 What is not collected
- Your brokerage login credentials — entered only inside SnapTrade’s Connection Portal, never seen by Market Insight.
- Personal identifying details held by your broker (national insurance number, address on file, etc.) unless your broker explicitly exposes them through SnapTrade and they are required for the service.
3.3 Read-only by default
We request read-only access from your broker by default. We do not currently execute trades on your behalf. If trading is introduced in a future release, you will be asked to give explicit, separate consent before any trading scope is requested.
3.4 Managing and revoking access
You can view all of your connected brokerages on the Portfolio page under “Manage accounts”, and you can disconnect any connection at any time. Disconnecting removes the link with your broker via SnapTrade and deletes the associated holdings cached on our side within 30 days.
SnapTrade’s own privacy and data practices are described at snaptrade.com/privacy.
4. How we use your data
- Provide you with the core service: dashboards, portfolio tracking, alerts, AI-generated briefings.
- Authenticate you and keep your session secure.
- Sync your brokerage data on a defined schedule and on your explicit refresh request.
- Generate aggregated analytics so we can improve the product and detect abuse.
- Communicate service-critical messages (e.g. a broken brokerage connection that needs reconnecting).
We do not use your personal data or brokerage data for advertising, profiling for marketing, or training third-party AI models. AI features that summarise markets operate on public market data, not on your account data, unless you explicitly ask for analysis of your own portfolio — in which case the relevant figures are sent to the AI provider only for the duration of that request.
5. Legal basis for processing (UK GDPR)
- Contract – to deliver the service you have signed up for.
- Consent – to connect a brokerage via SnapTrade, and for any optional analytics cookies.
- Legitimate interest – to keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and improve features. We balance this against your rights and you may object at any time.
- Legal obligation – where we must retain records to comply with law.
7. International transfers
Some processors listed above are located outside the UK. Where we transfer personal data outside the UK / EEA, we rely on UK International Data Transfer Agreements, the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or adequacy decisions where available. You may request a copy of the safeguards in place by contacting us.
8. Data retention
- Account data: retained for the life of your account.
- Brokerage cache (holdings, balances, transactions): retained while a connection is active. After you disconnect or delete your account, removed within 30 days.
- Server logs: 90 days, then deleted or anonymised.
- Backups: overwritten on a rolling 35-day cycle.
9. Security
- All traffic is served over TLS 1.2+.
- Brokerage credentials never reach our servers; the connection is brokered by SnapTrade.
- SnapTrade user secrets are stored server-side, scoped per user, and never returned to the browser.
- Database access is restricted by Supabase row-level security policies tied to your authenticated user.
- Webhooks from SnapTrade are signature-verified before being processed.
No system is perfectly secure. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal data, we will notify you and the ICO as required by UK GDPR.
10. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Erase your data (“right to be forgotten”)
- Restrict or object to certain processing
- Data portability for data you provided
- Withdraw consent at any time (without affecting prior lawful processing)
- Lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk)
You can exercise most of these rights directly inside the app (export, disconnect brokerages, delete your account). For anything else, email support@marketrecapdaily.com and we will respond within 30 days.
12. Children
Market Insight is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified via in-app banner or email at least 14 days before they take effect. The “Last updated” date above always reflects the current version.
14. How to contact us
For privacy questions, data requests, or to report a concern, email support@marketrecapdaily.com.
